Durable powder-coated finishes

A smooth, resilient colour finish with preparation that is designed to last.

What this service does

Powder coating gives alloy wheels an even, durable finish and opens up a wide choice of colours and effects. The result depends as much on preparation as the final colour, so the wheel surface is treated as a complete system.

Suitable wheels are stripped of the old coating before corrosion and surface defects are prepared. Powder is applied electrostatically so it covers the wheel evenly, then cured to form a hard finish. The exact preparation and finishing stages depend on wheel condition and the selected result.

When it may be suitable

  • Worn, chipped or discoloured painted wheel finishes
  • Changing silver wheels to gloss, satin, dark or bespoke colours
  • Refreshing a full set for a consistent appearance
  • Creating a durable base for everyday road use
Colour samples and screens can look different under workshop, daylight and road conditions. Discuss the finish in advance if an exact match is important.

Choosing the right colour and sheen

Gloss, satin and darker finishes can change how large or intricate a wheel appears. We can discuss whether you want an original-style result, a subtle update or a stronger contrast with the vehicle paint.

Care after powder coating

Use non-acidic wheel products and soft brushes or mitts. Avoid aggressive chemicals and allow wheels to cool before cleaning. Regular gentle cleaning is better than letting brake dust build up.
